Prairie Supply Capitalizes on L&M Technical Support
Jim Vlcek, Editor, L&M Concrete News

Seventeen years ago, Bruce Kringlie scraped together $5,000 and purchased enough concrete forms to start a small forms rental business in Bismarck, North Dakota.

"We bought enough forms for two or three turnarounds. We spent most of our time delivering, cleaning and oiling concrete forms and then sending them back out again," said Ryan Kringlie, Bruce's son and president of Prairie Supply, Inc. "Little did we know then that, thanks to our customers and key suppliers, we'd grow to be one of the largest concrete construction suppliers in our region!"

From a few forms and L&M Debond to a lot more
Fast forward the Prairie tape and you'll find a progressive, energetic, family-owned company positioned for continued growth in an ever-changing industry.

Prairie Supply is now headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota with branch offices in Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minneapolis. Specializing in heavy-industrial forming, shoring, and engineering falsework calculations, Prairie also supplies Dakota-land with rebar fabrication, commercial and residential concrete construction materials. Prairie relies on L&M for a majority of its concrete chemicals, grouts, and repair products. In addition to Debond, LumisealPlus, Crystex, Duracrete, Highway Curing Compounds, ChemHard, SealHard, and Quartzplate lead the way for the L&M brand among the local contractors Prairie Supply serves.

"L&M is there when we need them."
"My dad, Bruce, worked a lot with L&M's sales rep John Cullen in our early days," Ryan Kringlie reflected. "They established a mutually successful relationship through the time of John's retirement. About three years ago, Frank Bianchi took over our account for L&M and aggressively pursued new business with Prairie Supply. Frank worked with us tirelessly to help us become more competitive and aggressive in our industry.

"Frank urged us to carry a wider array of L&M products and deeper stocking levels. For us, it all boils down to service. L&M has always been there when we needed them. They stand behind all the products they sell and they go the extra mile to make things right-sometimes even if it's not their fault.

"We also rely heavily on technical service representatives, in particular, Byron Hanson, to come up with instant answers to our technical or application questions. This means an awful lot to us, especially when something goes wrong for one of our customers out in the field. We feel that L&M places a lot of emphasis on their customer service. L&M continually does more than is expected, and it shows!"

L&M president Greg Schwietz said, "Prairie Supply is an excellent example of L&M partnering with a distributor to move toward price and service domination of a market. It's always a pleasure for L&M to work strongly with our distributors to build win-win relationships based on trust, service, knowledge and competitive pricing."
